LOL, not bad think theirs one or two more instruments that were missed out but whatevs was funny!

PonyStew responds:

Thanks, pal ;3

Strong subbass which is a key element in Trap music, The lead at the start seems kinda blurry and not much clarity, perhaps some EQing at around 9 - 11kHz to give it a bit more definition.

It was very loud which isn't a problem but it did sound like its clipping im afraid :(, Not sure if you used a maximiser abit harshly to get it that loud?

Soldier on though man! can't get better without trying!

DjErebus responds:

Mastering and Mixing is still a very weak area for me, so I'll try playing around with it. Probably doesn't help I don't have a very good pair of headphones or speakers at the moment. Thanks for the review. Very helpful. c:

really nice work man, has this sort of old skool Ibiza vibe (Kevin and Perry style), good melody with good emotion to it.

my only thought is the drum feels a little screened by possibly the bassline, thats just my opinion tho maybe I'm wanting to hear hard drums today haha.

Soldier on man good stuff.

ForeverBound responds:

yes the bass overwelms the kick a bit had some mastering problems with it actually but I think it turned out fine altough the kick might need to stand out a little bit more.

Thanks for your review

Won't lie the mix needs sorting out a bit BUT a mix down doesn't make a good song but bare it in mind for your next song!

I think the synth cuts out on second drop because a filter (Might be a lowpass) on the synth goes so low that it just blends with the kick. So yea have a look at that LFO you think it is :P.

The choppy vocals that you've tried out are a pretty damn good attempt and is quite melodically pleasing. I'd say possible add a bit of pingpong delay and reverb to fill out the mix a bit more!

Good stuff mate soldier on :)

jambrother2 responds:

thanks i appreciate the feedback, mixing has never really been my strong point but il take your advice on board and give it a mix down some time, cheers :)

the main melody is pretty damn cool, it does sound like its single notes tho? to me it sounds like its begging to be these huge sort of supersaw chords with a wide stereo space with that melody over it. sounds like its a got a massive potential to be an amazing bigroom dance song.

drums a cool but to me sounds like it kinda wants to be a typical clap/clap/clap/clap then kick/kick/kick/kick on the drop/chorus! but because you've not been typical and are doing your own thing that still sounds good and reflects a good emotional vibe 4*

hey man, cool stuff. I'm not into dark dubstep so to say so opinion is quite invalid as it goes melodically.

you say in the comments your snare dont sound right at 140bpm so you wanna check out compression to make your drum tighter I'm guessing! shouldnt have to change the BPM just because of your snare IMO :P.

i noticed a abundance of FX like uplifters, down lifters etc.. HOWEVER there is nothing wrong with this, Boysnoize (sorry for incorrect spelling anyone) didn't use much in his old stuff and that stuff is amaze. But uplifters and downlifters might be something for you to look into?

Hope this helps in some way! good work tho bud, soldier on :)

Although this isn't something i'd personally listen to or download I'm giving it 5 stars because you have stated that its retro and a gaming sort of song. this song seriously gives me good vibes by reminding me of SEGA's Road Rash game and that shit had the best soundtrack of all time, i could easily see this fitting in with a retro game like Streets of Rage, Road Rash or even something kinda like sonic the hedgehog.

Kinda hard to give feedback on anything else because its dependant on your image of it.

Good job sir, hats off n all that! :)

8-bitheroes responds:

Ahha, yeah this was just a little idea, pretty raw sounding and basic but thanks for your feedback! :)

fuck, man thats mint the effort really shows in this i cant comment, it just seems like you've made something that goes beyond my knowledge of trying to give any advice or anythin lol

can totally see why u had to do something with that vocal, made it all work too. I'd say theres some harsh frequencies in the high end somewhere that need taming a bit perhaps a slight cut in the EQ or something, you've done some extent in taming it with the db level tho, great work man enjooooooyd

martin-wales responds:

cool cheers bro

im not a fan of trance at all, but i really enjoyed the synths and melody, great work man everything fits together spot on imo. i'd possible EQ ur kick at 100 - 200hz whatever works best make it a lil more snappy, great work tho better than i can do 10 fold
